INTRODUCTION
 A.  Background of Research
Language  is  a  primary  instrument  of  the  communication  among  human beings in community. In others words,  Language is a tool of communication.  By  using  a  language  people  are  able  to  introduce  themselves,  convey  their  messages  and  express  their  ideas  and  written.  Therefore  language  is  very  important  in  our  life.  Language  as  a  means  of  communication  with  other  people  as  a  tool  to  express  ideas  and  wishes. 
All  common  people  in  a community  understand  and  speak  their  language  well  enough  to  carry  out every  activity.  Some  people  in  that  community  cannot  read  and  write, however,  by  using  the  language  orally,  they  are  still  able  to  cooperate  with others. Every social group has different language, for example, a group of people who  were  born  and  live  in  England,  speak  English  as  their 
native  language, and  the  group  of  people  who  were  born  and  live  in  Indonesia,  speak Indonesian. As Allah says in A Holy Qur’an surah Ar-room: 22 “And of His signs are the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the diversity  of  your  tongues  and  colors:  surely  there  are  signs  in  this  for  all mankind”.
In  Indonesia,  English  is  the  first  foreign  language  that  is  considered important  to  be  introduced  to  students  in  elementary  school,  junior  high school, and senior high school. Considering the importance of  English as one of    the    international  language,  the  Indonesian  Goverment  has  decided  to

A. Background of The Study
Language is the medium for communication and to transfer the message, informations or knowledge we sure use the language. In communication process, receiver can understand when we speak clearly. In example in conversation, we are free to turn taking between the speakers, ask question and change the topics. Many spoken interactions consist of commenting on immediate actions or events, or casually moving from one topic to another.2 It mean that when we do the conversation activities, there will be some transformations of ideas and information¶s which is very beneficial for human progress as unconsidered
learning. Learning something new is not only in formal learning, but also in any situations.
We know that God created human in different kinds so, they need to be interact between people that make them understand each other. Allah has explaining this statement in the Koran :
³Hi, Human, actually We created you from a men and women and becoming you in different nations and tribes in order to know between each other. Actually the most lofty people in side of Allah is they are who has a pious between them. Actually only Allah, the God omniscient and Almighty. ( Al-Hujarat: 13 )
From the explanation above, it is means that people have been instructed by Allah to be a friendship or understand one to another, although they have a different in sex, tribe, country, and language. To be know and understand another, we need a communication, and Language is one media to????????????????

INTRODUCTION
A.  Background of The Study
Many countries all over world, including Indonesia regard English as the first  obligatory  foreign  language.  English  as  the  first  foreign  language  has been given a special attention and role especially in education. This is way the Indonesian  government  chooses  English  as  the  first  foreign  language  to  be taught at the formal schools.3 The  purpose  of  teaching  English  is  to  master  four  skills,  they  are listening,  speaking,  reading,  and  writing.  Teaching  and  learning  activity  in writing  need  some  skills  for  the  students  to  master.  Writing  is  frequently useful  as  preparation  for  some  other  activity.4  It  is  a  process  of  discovering and  organizing  ideas,  putting  them  on  papers,  and  revising  them. 
Writing allows  the  students  to  express  our  ideas  well;  however,  to  get  the  meaning strong,  interesting,  and  clear  for  the  reader,  this  skill  must  be  improved  by  practicing  a  lot.  The  importance  of  writing  can  be  seen  in  people  daily  activities  when  they  need  to  write  personal
  letters,  invitation,  formal  letters,  articles, books and the other product writing activities.
The researcher considers that writing is the hardest skill for people who learn  English  because  in  writing  process,  the  students  will  face  many difficulties  in  transferring  thought  and  ideas  in  writing  form.  Writing  has  many examples and a wide variety, so the students need a preparation to write correctly. In this case, the students need suggestions in the writing process that has  four  elements,  they  are  planning,  drafting,  editing,  and  final  version.5  It means that, writing takes more time to think, choose the words, and make the>??????

A. Research Background
Language is one of the most important areas of human development. Language is purely important as a tool of communication. According to Crystal cited by Srijono language is the systematic, conventional use of sounds, sign, or written symbols in human society for communication and self expression.2 As a tool of communication language is used among human beings in order to establish social relationship. By using language they can express their ideas, feelings, and thought to the society in both written and spoken.
There are many languages in the world. Every society has different language. Although English is not the language with the largest number of native or first language speaker, it has become a lingua franca.3
English is an international language which has been received by countries all over the word.
Moreover, as an international language, English is used to communicate in business meeting or other activities among government over the world, chiefly in science and technology. In line with the more sophisticated world, people are demanded to be able to communicate not only by using mother tongue but also by using foreign languages. Nowadays English already be one of the most important languages. As a developing country, Indonesia really needs English because
Indonesian government is trying to improve all aspects which are usually faced by all countries. One of these aspects is education, which is essential. Thus, the government has settled English as one of the compulsory subject to study at school, from basic until the highest. INTRODUCTION
A.      Background 
Language plays an important role in human life. Language is used for communication. By using language, someone could make statement, convey fact and knowledge explain or report something, and keep social relation among language users. Language acquisition is divided into four major skill, those are speaking, listening, reading and writing. We cannot deny that writing is the difficult subject of the four major language skills. There are many difficulties that the students face in writing such as: content and vocabulary. They are the main factors that must be concerned in writing.
Content is significant aspect in writing. In content, EFL (English as Foreign Language) students may lack the ability to express clear main ideas. The way students form phrases often influences the audiences' understanding of the written content. Writing in English might be difficult for EFL students because they are
not used to stating their point clearly, so their audience may not be able to follow their intricate writing style and understand the main ideas of the text.
Text Box: 1  Another common error in writing is namely vocabulary. Vocabulary is one of language aspect dealing with the process of writing. The writer always thinks about putting words into sentences and then putting sentences into paragraph until they can create a piece of writing. It is clear now that we cannot write or express our ideas if we are lack of vocabulary. Therefore, the students are difficult in writing because they are lack of it. Written English is linguistically different from spoken English, and it requires knowledge of lower-frequency words that students rarely or never use in speaking.
The other factors of the students’ in writing skill is they are lack of ideas and less of competence in organizing ideas. Sometimes students, when they are asked to write, they do not know what they are going to write because they do not have enough ideas to write or they cannot organize well their ideas in the form of paragraph. Finally the students feel anxious when they attempt to write.
To solve the problems above the teacher has to find out interesting teaching strategy and more creative to motivate students in writing process. Therefore, one simplest way of making writing more creative and meaningful to the students is to have the students write something about picture, maps, charts, movies, etc. by using Visual-Spatial Intelligence strategy. Visual-spatial Intelligence is one kind of multiple intelligences theory which has been demonstrated by Howard Gardner In1980’s. Visual-spatial intelligence when used in education, it will be a learning strategy.
Visual-Spatial Intelligence Strategy will help the students to construct their mind to think what they are going to write. As we know that one of the difficulty of writing is we lack of ideas. Whereas, when the students will be commanded to write about picture, maps, charts, movies, etc. they will have many ideas. Because of????????
